ORGANISATION
Christian Aid is a global charity working to eradicate poverty and fight inequality.
Through its advocacy and campaigning, it challenges the structures which keep communities in poverty from climate injustice to unsustainable debt burdens.
This video focuses on raising awareness around the intersection of climate and debt crises faced by low-income countries in the lead-up to the Fourth Financing for Development Conference (FFD4) in 2025.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
We worked in collaboration with Florence Corvez Curtis, who commissioned us to create a 50-second explainer video for Christian Aid.
The aim was to illustrate how debt repayments constrain low-income countries’ ability to respond to climate crisis, and to inspire action for systemic financial reform.
The video needed to be easily shareable on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
It needed to appeal to the public, activists, campaigners and policymakers while retaining accuracy and empathy.

CHALLENGE
The topic combined complex economic data and urgent climate realities.
Our task was to make these interconnected issues clear, visual, and emotionally resonant.
We turned abstract statistics into a visual story without oversimplifying the message.
The tone had to balance confrontation, highlighting injustice with hope and empowerment.

OUR APPROACH
We developed a collage-style video combining stock footage, imagery and graphics.
This style allowed us to weave together economic data, real human impact, and political messaging in a way that felt both urgent and accessible.
The narrative was structured around a simple progression: the problem → the imbalance → the path to change.

🔹 Using layered visuals and textures to represent the intersection of climate and finance.
🔹 Employing bold typography and animated infographics to make large numbers understandable.
🔹 Mixing stock footage with graphic elements to humanise intricate statistics.
🔹 Ending in an empowering tone, inviting audiences to demand systemic reform.

OUTCOME
The final video presents a powerful, social-first message that connects the dots between climate justice and debt relief.
It has been used by Christian Aid and its partners across global campaigns leading up to the FFD4 Conference, helping to raise awareness and drive engagement around a critical but often overlooked issue.
